This 6 hour trek incorporates the mountain climb and the rice field trek.
The Mount Batukaru six hour trek is an alternative to the summit trek for those who would like to experience the mountain climb without having to negotiate the steepest and most difficult part of the mountain.
This trek is also an alternative in inclement weather. This six hour trek incorporates the mountain climb and the rice field trek

We limit numbers on this trek as it enters sensitive rainforest in the nature reserve. A relatively new trekking feature of Bali, we respect local traditions and use local guides.
Your guide will point out amazing plant life, beautiful butterflies and, if the forest allows, monkeys and the Kijang that live here. Beginning at the Pura (Temple) on the mountain, the Mangku ( Hindu priest) who protects the temple will perform a short ceremony to the mountain's spirit if he is available when you go.

The changing landscape as you climb the mountain is evident in the flora and fauna. Moss, prehistoric tree ferns, wildflowers, creepers, orchids, butterflies and many birds can be seen in the moist primary forest (montane forest).
Starting from 800m the trek will climb to 1800 m, which is about 1 hour from the summit.
After returning from the climb there is a downhill walk to the rice fields of Sarinbuana where you can see the subak (water system) of the rice field and the stunning scenery of the area.
