New Environmental song
Richard and Jay have written an environmental song for Bali. With the help of 2 law students from Jakarta they wrote the lyrics in Indonesian. A song called Bali Bangkit -- Bali raise up
'"We stayed at Seni Jaya in Seminyak and that evening met 2 couples from Jakarta, they happened to be law students who loved holidaying in Bali. The conversation turned to the environment in general then specifically Bali. We all decided Bali needed a good message song about the environment so for the next few hours we sat down and wrote one. The inspiration was there and then and we didn't want to lose that moment" -Richard
Here are the lyrics.
Bali Bangkit
(capo on 2nd) copyright 2007 J&R L&L)
Resah, penat, gundah
Dimana harus kucari surga kecilku
Tidak ada lagi tempat berteduh
Tidak ada lagi kenyamanan
Tidak ada lagi rasa aman
Dimana surga di bumi?
Kutemukan disini rasa nyaman itu
Pulau dewata surga kecilku
Apa yang terjadi?
Awan hitam menyelimuti surga
Apa yang terjadi?
Air keruh membanjiri surga
Apa yang terjadi?
Mereka menjual tanah disurga
Cukup! Bangkit kembali bangkit! X2
Cukup! ------Bali bangkit!
Kita butuh awan cerah untuk anak kita
Kita butuh air jernih untuk anak kita
Kita butuh tanah ini untuk hidup anak kita
Cukup! Bangkit kembali bangkit! Cukup! Bangkit kembali bangkit!
Cukup! -------Bali bangkit! X2
Hanya kau dan aku yang bisa
Memperbaiki, menjaga, melindungi
Pulau dewata surga kecil kami
English Lyrics:
Bali Bangkit copyright 2007 J&R L&L)
I’m anxious, I’m weary, I’m depressed
Where is my little piece of heaven?
There’s no more quiet place
There’s no more tranquility
There’s no more security
Where is heaven on Earth?
I have found my little heaven here on this island
What’s happened?
There’s a black cloud over heaven
What’s happened?
Dark waters are flooding heaven
What’s happened?
Why are they selling the land?
Enough! Wake up, come back, wake up!
Enough! Bali, wake up!
We need clean air for our children
We need clean water for our children
We need land to feed our children
Enough! Wake up, come back, wake up!
Enough! Bali wake up!
Together you and I can repair, look after, protect
our little island heaven.
